KENNON HULETT was born in the swamps of southern Louisiana. She moved to the town of Hattiesburg, Mississippi at the age of 2, and has been doing her damnest ever since to spend as little time there as possible. After spending much of her young life trying to counteract the effects of parochial school education, she made a break for it in 2000, and ran away to Denmark under the pretense of doing a “student exchange programâ€. While in Europe, she picked up a totally unmarketable language and the vague idea that it would be fun to work in film instead of getting a real job. While finishing out her high school career she worked with the Forensics and Theatre departments, became a fixture at the Waffle House, and attended three sets of national speech competitions in her senior year. After graduating and swearing off public speaking and theatre, she was accepted to Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she wrote screenplays, edited with Avid, and made short films. She also studied for her BFA in Film, Screenwriting and Cinema Studies, and traded the Waffle House in for a hookah bar in NoHo. She graduated with honors in the Spring of 2007, having directed two major projects – "Laceration Lane", a tongue-in-cheek horror film, and "The Landlady", a comedy about hipsters and murder. While at school she also edited a music video for Dibble Edge, and created the first cut of a feature Documentary, "Method in the Mountains", which recently won the audience award at the West Virgina Filmmakers Festival. Working with Ultrastar Entertainment, she began editing web content for musicians’ websites. Working with such bands as The Police, Genesis, and INXS, her work has been seen by many, many people. She continues to edit projects both large and small in the New York Area. Her email is kennonhulett(at)gmail.com |
